HalfPast Terms of Use
Effective date: 26 October 2026
Published at: https://planner.halfpast.io/terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Sergiy Bondarev, IČO 23604280, Bachmačská 691, 280 02 Kolín, Czechia ("we", "us") about your use of the HalfPast student planner app and its online services ("HalfPast"). By using HalfPast you accept these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
1. What HalfPast is
HalfPast is a planner for students. It covers:
- timetable, tasks and exams;
- grades and attendance;
- notes, recordings and scans;
- practice tests and focus sessions.
On top of that it offers optional cloud sync and optional AI features.
The app works on your device without an account. Some features need an account, an internet connection or a paid plan.
2. Who may use it
You may use HalfPast if you can form a binding contract under the law where you live. If you can't, for example because you are under that age, a parent or guardian must accept these terms for you and supervise your use.
Some features need a parent's confirmation for users under the digital-consent age. These include the AI features. See the Privacy Policy, section 6.
3. Your account
- An account is optional. You can sign in with Google, Apple or an email address.
- Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. Deletion removes your cloud data. It cannot be undone.
4. Your content
- You own what you put into HalfPast, including tasks, notes, grades, recordings, photos and files.
- If you use sync, you give us the limited permission we need to store, transmit, back up and display your content to you on your devices. If you use an AI feature, the same permission covers processing the content you choose with our AI provider. We use your content for nothing else.
- You are responsible for your content and for having the right to store it. In particular:
- Recordings: recording lectures or other people may need the consent of the lecturer, the other participants or your institution, and some places forbid it. Get any permission you need, and use recordings only for your own study.
- Don't upload content that is illegal or that infringes others' rights.
5. AI features
- AI results, such as lecture notes, practice questions, text read from scans, a timetable read from a photo or a parsed quick-add sentence, are generated automatically and can be wrong or incomplete. Check them, especially dates, grades and exam information, before relying on them.
- HalfPast is a study aid. It does not replace your teachers, your institution's official information or your own judgement.
- Don't use the AI features to cheat or to break your institution's academic-integrity rules.
- AI use is limited by your plan (section 6). We may limit or suspend AI access in case of abuse, for example automated or excessive use.
6. Plans, storage and payments
Free plan:
- the full planner on your device;
- sync with 100 MB of cloud storage;
- a one-time AI trial;
- a small monthly allowance for AI quick-add.
HalfPast Plus, a paid subscription, monthly or yearly:
- 10 GB of cloud storage;
- larger monthly AI allowances, as shown in the app on the Plan & AI screen.
There is no free trial of Plus.
AI credit packs are one-time purchases that add AI usage on top of your plan.
Buying and billing:
- Purchases are made through Google Play and are governed by Google Play's terms, including its payment and refund policies.
- Prices are shown in the app and in Google Play before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Plus stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Credits are tied to your account, can't be transferred or exchanged for money, and may expire only if the app says so at purchase.
If you go over your storage:
- If your synced files exceed your plan's storage, for example after Plus ends, new files stop uploading until you free up space or upgrade.
- We don't delete your files because of this without telling you first.
Price and allowance changes:
- We may change prices or allowances. Price changes for existing subscriptions follow Google Play's notice process. You can cancel before they apply.
- Changes to allowances apply from your next billing period.
Consumer rights (EU/UK): you have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. When you buy a subscription or credits, you ask us to start providing the digital service immediately. You acknowledge that:
- you lose the right of withdrawal for credits once you use them;
- for a subscription, you lose it to the extent the service has already been provided.
Refunds go through Google Play. Your mandatory consumer rights are not affected.
7. Acceptable use
Don't:
- break the law or others' rights using HalfPast;
- try to access other users' data, or to bypass plan limits, App Check or other security measures;
- reverse-engineer the service to abuse it;
- overload our servers, for example with automated requests;
- resell the service.
We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these rules. Where reasonable, we tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.
8. Updates and availability
- We update HalfPast to fix problems, improve it and keep it secure.
- To protect your data, an old app version may need to be updated before it can sync or use AI again. Your local data stays available.
- We try to keep the online services available, but we can't guarantee they will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- If we ever end the online services, we will give you at least 60 days' notice, so you can export your data. Any prepaid Plus period that remains unused will be refunded pro rata.
9. Backups
- Sync is not a substitute for backups.
- Use Settings → Backup & restore (automatic backups or "Export backup") to keep your own copy of important data.
- We are not responsible for data lost because a device is lost, reset or uninstalled when the data wasn't synced or backed up.
10. Intellectual property
- HalfPast, its design, code and branding belong to us or our licensors.
- Open-source components are used under their licences (listed in the app under About → Open-source licences).
- We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app under these terms.
11. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law. This includes liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and mandatory consumer-protection rights.
- Otherwise HalfPast is provided "as is". We are not liable for:
- indirect or consequential losses;
- missed deadlines, exams or grades resulting from reliance on the app or on AI output;
- content you store.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability for paid services is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Ending the agreement
- You can stop using HalfPast and delete your account at any time.
- We may end these terms for a free account with reasonable notice, or immediately for a serious breach.
- Sections 4, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.
13. Law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic.
- If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you can bring claims in your local courts.
- Consumers can also settle a dispute with us out of court. The body responsible is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2, https://adr.coi.cz). Consumers in other EU countries can find their national body at https://consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu.
14. Changes to these terms
- We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before they apply.
- If you don't agree, you can stop using the service and delete your account before then.
- Continuing to use HalfPast after that date means you accept the new terms.
